Privacy

Last updated 10 July 2026.

Kamptribe is a small, code-first team. This page describes, in plain language, what data the product actually collects, why, and which rights you have over it.

Who is responsible

Kamptribe (kamptribe.com) is the controller for the personal data described on this page. For anything data-related, email us at support@kamptribe.com — we answer personally.

Account data

If you create an account, we store your email address and authentication details with Supabase, our auth and database provider. If you add a first name, we store it as part of your profile to personalise the app. We use this to sign you in, show your saved trips and enforce plan limits.

Planner data

Without an account, your route lives only in your browser's local storage. With an account, saved trips (stops, budget inputs, names) are stored in our database and are only visible to you, unless you make a trip public or invite a travel companion.

Cookies

We set one small, first-party cookie to remember your language preference. That is the only cookie: we show no ads, use no advertising or tracking cookies, and our analytics (below) works without cookies — which is why Kamptribe has no cookie banner.

Analytics

We use Rybbit, a privacy-friendly analytics service we host ourselves on our own server — so your data does not go to an external analytics provider. Rybbit sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device: no identifiers, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking. We count page visits and product steps (like creating a trip). We never send your trip contents, stop notes or email address to analytics, and public share links and trip IDs are deliberately kept out of it entirely.

Payments

Advanced subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details — Stripe handles checkout and billing directly, and we only keep your subscription status and renewal date.

Trail Scout (AI suggestions)

When you ask Trail Scout for ideas, the question and the relevant route context (places, area on the map) are sent to OpenAI to generate suggestions. Your email address and account details are never included, and suggestions are advisory only — nothing is changed without your review.

Sharing your trip

A public trip link shares your route, stops and budget with anyone who has the link. It never includes your email address, account details or private stop notes. Members you invite by email can see and, if given editor access, change the trip.

Service providers

Kamptribe runs on a small set of providers, each receiving only what their job requires: Supabase (accounts and trip database), Cloudflare (hosting and API proxy), Stripe (payments), Google (place search and map data), OpenAI (Trail Scout suggestions), Rybbit (cookieless analytics, self-hosted by us), Resend (transactional email such as support replies) and — once enabled — Sentry (error monitoring; technical crash context only, never trip contents or email addresses). Live fuel prices and exchange rates are fetched anonymously.

Legal bases (GDPR)

We process personal data on three bases: performance of a contract (your account, saved trips and payments), legitimate interest (cookieless usage statistics, error monitoring and abuse prevention such as rate limits) and consent where we ask for it explicitly (such as inviting a travel companion by email). We never sell personal data.

How long we keep data

Your account and trips are kept until you delete them or delete your account. Billing records (subscription status, invoices at Stripe) are kept as long as tax law requires. Server logs and error reports are short-lived and expire automatically. Anonymous planner data lives only in your own browser and never reaches our servers.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict processing, and take your data with you — every trip exports as a JSON file from the planner. Deleting your account works self-service (see below); for everything else, email support@kamptribe.com. You also have the right to complain to your data-protection authority — in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

International transfers

Some providers process data outside the EU, in particular in the United States (Stripe, OpenAI, Cloudflare, Google). Those transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. We host our analytics ourselves, on our own infrastructure.

California residents (CCPA)

We do not sell or “share” personal information as defined by the CCPA, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising. California residents can exercise the same access and deletion rights described above via support@kamptribe.com.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account at any time from Account settings. This cancels any active subscription and permanently removes your saved trips — the right to erasure, self-service.
