Getting started

Do I need an account to plan a trip?: No. You can build a full route, explore the map and see your budget without signing up. Create an account when you want to save a trip to the cloud or share it.
How do I create an account?: Sign up with your email address. Once your account exists, your trips are saved to the cloud and you can open them on all your devices.
Does Kamptribe work offline?: Yes. Kamptribe is a web app (PWA) you can add to your home screen, and it keeps working on the road even without a stable connection.
Is there a limit on the Free plan?: Free accounts can save up to 2 trips in the cloud. Planning without an account, or upgrading to Advanced, removes that limit.

How do I build a route?: Add stops, drag them into the right order, and choose Highway or Scenic per leg. Distance and drive time update live.
Is the routing safe for my RV?: Mostly. Enter your camper's dimensions and routing will try to avoid unsuitable tunnels and bridges. Important: it's an aid, not a guarantee — always check clearance height, width and weight limits yourself on the road.
What can I see on the map?: Turn on map layers for campgrounds, viewpoints and National Parks along your route, and add them as a stop with one click.
Can I track my trip budget?: Yes. The budget calculator adds up camper, fuel, food, campgrounds and activities live into one total.
How do I share my trip with others?: Save your trip and generate a public, read-only link you can share with anyone. To plan together, Advanced lets you invite travel companions as viewer or editor.

What does Kamptribe Advanced add?: Unlimited saved trips, map-aware Trail Scout ideas, inviting travel companions as viewer or editor, and comments on individual stops.
What is Trail Scout?: Trail Scout is Advanced's map-aware AI. It knows your route and suggests stops that actually sit along it, instead of random ideas.
Can I plan together with others?: With Advanced you invite your tribe to plan together. Choose per person whether they can only view (viewer) or also edit (editor).
Can we leave comments on stops?: Yes, with Advanced everyone in your tribe can leave comments on individual stops, so you decide together without scattered chats.

How much does Advanced cost?: €7.99 per month or €69.99 per year. The yearly plan is cheaper if you plan more often.
Is there a yearly plan?: Yes. Besides €7.99 per month you can choose €69.99 per year, which works out to a few months free.
How is payment handled?: Payment is handled securely through Stripe. Kamptribe never processes your card details itself.
Can I cancel anytime?: Yes, anytime through the Stripe portal — no phone call needed. You keep Advanced access until the end of the period you already paid for.

Where is my data stored, and can I delete it?: In our Supabase database if you have an account, or only in your browser if you don't. You can delete your account and all saved trips at any time.
Can I export my data?: Yes. In line with GDPR you can request an export of your data and have your data deleted whenever you want.
What can someone see if I share my public trip link?: Just the route, stops and budget, marked read-only. It never includes your email address, and it's separate from inviting a travel companion.
